Govt extends last date of ITR file to August 5 New Delhi, Jul 29 (UNI) The government today said it has decided to extend the last date of filing Income Tax Return (ITR) to August 5, 2016 from July 31, 2016, in the wake of one-day bank strike called by the employees union against the proposed merger of State Bank associates. Revenue Secretary Hashmukh Adhia in a series of tweets said, “In view of today's bank strike and disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir, due date of IT return filing is being extended. For assessees across India, liable to file IT Returns by 31st July, deadline is extended up to 5th August.”
